Welgelegen manor house along the stately Parklaan in Rotterdam has been thoroughly renovated, and is therefore ready for a new chapter in its history. The villa and the coach house fit in beautifully with the new garden, which is based on a design with classical lines. Prominent in the garden is a long pond with fountains for the necessary dynamics. The edge of the pond is finished with a classical covering of Italian porphyry. The ironwork of white steel on the walkway includes the initials of the clients in elegant curls. There is also a romantic arbour with a subtle elevated location in the lawn.

Mercury, the Roman god of trade and financial gain, overlooks the pond from a sandstone base. The fencing that surrounds the garden is connected with the history of Rotterdam, as it previously belonged to the Rotterdam Zoo.
