GREEN RIVERSIDE GARDEN ON THE RIVER IJSSEL

For a client who wanted to be surrounded by greenery, we designed a garden that draws the eye to mature multi-stemmed trees and shrubs. This ensures privacy from the street at the front of the property, while at the rear the garden serves as a green buffer between the house and the sometimes turbulent river IJssel.

A large sunken riverside seating area provides shelter from the wind and is a lovely place to relax in the sun and look out over the water. In this part of the garden, we planted three sturdy multi-stemmed pines so the river comes into view between the trees – a view that is endlessly engaging. The colours and textures of the planting scheme create a gorgeous backdrop throughout the year. Shown here in the early autumn.
